SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - $40 million in cold hard cash will be spent so a South Bend factory can start bottling hot sauce.

Officials at McCormick and Company had two options after losing a large piece of business serving McDonald’s.

The plant would either be expanded or shut down.

The planned $40 million expansion will install a new retail glass production line for bottling Franks Red Hot.

McCormick’s is seeking a tax abatement from the city council.
